What is Yoga Therapy?
“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.”
International Association of Yoga Therapists
Yoga takes a holistic approach, recognising that we are an integrated whole—body, mind, emotions, and energy—rather than separate, isolated parts. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of all these aspects, understanding that true well-being arises from balance and harmony across all layers of our being.
For example, if you’re experiencing chronic pain, we don't just focus on the physical symptoms. We also explore potential root causes from a broader perspective, considering your mental health, emotional well-being, and any other contributing factors that may be influencing your pain
Yoga therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, some of which are listed here. While I specialise in supporting individuals with complex mental health conditions, disabilities, neurodivergence, and co-occurring conditions, I tailor each session to address your unique needs.

ONE TO ONE
SPECIAL YOGA
£60 per session, up to 1 hour.
I allow time for up to one hour for sessions. Duration depends on an individuals capacity on a given day.
Cancellation Policy: Full fee payable if less than 24hours notice given.
Special yoga has become the international term used to describe yoga for people with a variety of additional needs including autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, learning disability/ difficulties, PMLD, complex needs and other physical challenges.
I offer 1:1 Special Yoga sessions for children, young adults and adults with special and additional needs.
I apply the Special Yoga methodology combined with yoga therapy principles and practices. Suitable for all, including non-ambulatory.
Initial assessments by phone or in person precede any therapy sessions and treatment programme.
After an initial phone conversation we we will book in an in person session.
Ideally sessions are held in my garden studio in Ruislip. Home visits are considered if access is an issue, but availability is limited.
I allocate 1 hour for a session. It is useful to understand it may take time for someone to build up to a full hour, or they may dip in and out of a session.
The sessions are guided by the clients needs on the day, and I work intuitively to help them feel more at ease within themselves.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
“You teach KINDNESS.”
— John
Yoga Class Attendee
“I felt a deeper sense of relaxation and a shift in myself”
— Seema
Yoga therapy client
“I was at a stage when I wanted to really deepen and further my yoga practice.
Jodie broke Yoga down to it’s core and we built from there. At first, I was worried it was moving a little too slow for me, as I was always focused on Vinyasa style asana (postures), wanting to be strong and what others were doing! But Jodie explained, that to truly understand Yoga and it’s philosophy / lifestyle, you had to understand it’s roots and find the true connection of what it means for you and not focus on competing with others.
As the sessions went on it was almost like a reawakening of senses, of being and of the self.
Jodie’s beautiful, gentle, kind, nurturing and honest way of teaching really has a way of opening you up and reaching deep to get exactly what you need from each class. Even if you didn’t know you needed it!”
